OM SAI

"SHRI GURUPOURNIMA CELEBRATIONS" from 20th, 21st July, 2024

OM SAIRAM
Dear Sai Devotees,
Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwaraha |
Guru Saaskshat Parabrahma Tasmai Shree Gurave namaha ||
"The Guru is Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva), veneration to the Guru who is Parabrahma manifest."
Significance of Gurupournima:
Hindus attach paramount importance to spiritual Gurus. Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the immortal. Just as the moon shines by reflecting the light of the sun, and glorifies it, all disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining from their Gurus.
The full moon day is the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Pournima, a day sacred to the memory of great sage Vyasa. All Hindus are indebted to this ancient saint who edited the four Vedas, wrote the 18 Puranas, the Mahabharata & The Srimad Bhagvata. Vyasa even taught Dattatreya, who is regarded as Guru of Gurus. Shri Shirdi Sai Baba is regarded as an incarnation of Shri Dattatreya Maharaj.
While taking various measures that the events are not compromised for their spiritual importance, SHITAL will make extra efforts in decorating the Chariot procession for the festival as there is no bigger festival than Guru Pournima to dedicate to Baba. In essence, one can only attain salvation by serving the satpurush, in our case Shri Shirdi Sai Baba.
